Interestingly, it's almost as though anything goes, but when it comes to spells, it seems very personal and the main purpose is to reveal truths of ourselves. For example, if I wanted to banish someone from my life forever, it really would mean just something negative about them, but not harming them in some way. After every spell, one should say ''and may no harm be done.''
Idk, it's kinda cool. Paganism and all that.
There is layers, some people believe in harmful magic, and that you have to master both. Dark and light are just tools. And this is all layered, there is not one opinion, on anything in Wicca, it is practically open ended.
I know I was interested for a while, but there is something sinister in the scent of it, isn't there? At least I always felt like that even as a Deist.
I don't think I'd be interested in dark magick, however...in us all...there exists the capacity to want to do ''good'' and the desire to not do ''good.'' Whatever that means to you, on a personal level, or spiritual one. What I've been reading about Wicca, ''witches'' caution against performing spells in general, unless you are calm and unemotional about what your desire is, what the outcome is. Because when we're calm, we make better decisions. When you pray...you are asking for something...for God to do something, or cause a change in you, perhaps? If one invokes God into a spell let's say, it's with that same intent, similar to a prayer. But, a Wiccan can be a theist, atheist, or follow any religion or belief system...the spells are about intentions, and using our energy and intentions to bring about a desired outcome. That desired outcome might be that we merely grow from the experience. I shouldn't say ''merely,'' because personal growth is a beautiful thing, either way.
Being raised in Christianity, and having left it a few years back...it's still stuck in my head, what the Bible says about ''spells,'' and ''sorcerers,'' etc. :/
