You might enjoy Mary Stewart's Merlin series as well. Instead of Arthur as the main character, you get the story from Merlin's POV starting when he's a bastard child in a small court. Very interesting take on the classic storyline.

I think I started that once and didn't get into it, but I gave it only a brief try.
