Romantic love is just the label people put on a set of feelings they have for other people. Some people may not put the same label on a set of feelings as other people do.
The feelings are created by chemical processes in the brain.
So, yes, the label, "romantic love", put on the feelings created by the chemical processes exist.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
