We're not idiotic enough to suppose those less likely or impossible alternatives are more likely to be true than the more obvious explanation. Bayesian inference. Occam's Razor.

Why would bombs be a more obvious explanation than dragons? I've never seen a bomb, in fact, bombs, as far as I know, appear to contradict the Second Law of Thermodynamics. But I see flying animals every single day.

I'm not sure which is more pathetic: someone who is profoundly idiotic or someone who pretends to be profoundly idiotic.
