Right... sorry to hear that for your sake... but I would think that probably works the other way round as well; as in the newer music might introduce people to the classical. Dare I say it... and pardon the unintended pun... but a bit of classical conditioning
That sort of thing worked for me; as I said I'm a bit of a philistine and most of the classical music I know I got interested in in this sort of way, eg I got interested in Mozart from watching Amadeus, and Rachmaninov from a film called... I think it was called Shine. So just saying there's a flip side to that coin... but sorry it ruins your enjoyment.
