I think the size and sheer force of energy alive in the universe discounts God as he is concieved in the Christian theology. The size of the universe is wonderously amazing and mind-blowing and tends to sugest that there is a deeper more mind-blowing secret behind it all than some "large guy" who seeded two naked apes into a garden with the intention that they never eat the fruit that he forbade them to consume. And I'd like to hear from the Christian guy,fr0do, about how he figures the apparent age of the universe that scriptures date at a little over 6000 years old. Why would God be the "cosmic practical joker", as James Trefil puts it, and make the universe seem to appear over 15 billion years old? What does God have against people with telescopes?
