The Potemkin Presidency.
The Potemkin village, for all its negative connotations, still bespeaks of some non-zero degree of sophistication of the part of the prepetrator, and some minimal level of discernment on the part of those whom the village facade is intended to deceive.
A Potemkin presidency would at least erect a false facade of discernible decorum and propriety to hide what it has the wherewithal to know to be unpresentable.
This presidency, on the other hand, is one that rolls in mud and lathers itself in a frothy brew of excrements, and believes somehow the mere repetitive screaming of “I am the greatest!” via twitter would suffice to make itself so. A humiliatingly significant portion of the electorate is actually sufficiently rotten to believe that does indeed make it so.
It is a thoroughly rotten and decayed low grade demagoguery that fatally dovetailed with a throughly rotten and decayed portion of the electorate.
For all the anger we direct at Putin, in the current episold it is Russia that showed the admirable traits of deep study of the conflicts in the society of its adversary, patience, planning, and ruthless calculation based on national interest. It is america that so indulge in fractionalizatiin that half of American population would rather embrace treason, overlook the total abandonment National interest and the total acceptance of foreign usurpation of American strategic outlook in order to gain legislative advantage over the other half.
