Personally I think the op is a POE, and not a very good one, which is a kind of troll I suppose.
And there is nothing passive about this either. I'm outright saying he seems like a POE, and I think it's silly to respond to him as if he's serious.
Your response is, however, pretty passive aggressive. It's not a direct accusation, but says it "takes you back" so you can wiggle out if you want to when someone confronts you. Or claim is a joke or teasing. The very hallmarks of the passive aggressive comment.
Hmmm. . . well. . . if that's how you want to put it, then I guess I won't try to stop you!

I'm going to say maybe the only support for dowsing in this thread. I'd say the stick is about as effective as a Ouija Board. It can only say what you already think or know.
But it may be that some dowsers have so much experience with looking for water that they unconsciously pick up on things-- orientation of branches or leaves, patterns in the grass, who knows?
