At least kneeling is doing something. Although the idea that kneeling or wearing a tie is the best a bunch of multimillionaires can do to solve a problem is laughable.

Raising awareness causes people to try and do things. Maintaining awareness ensures people continue to do things.

The NFL have a breast cancer awareness week every year. Do you think people aren’t aware of breast cancer? No, it’s to maintain awareness and ensure people donate to causes that try and eliminate breast cancer.

The same applies here. Randy Moss wearing that tie is not him doing nothing. He’s raising awareness, keeping the issue in people’s minds. Who knows what he does in terms of donating to causes in his own time.

You can say the phrase raising awareness all you want, it still doesn't mean anything if it's an issue literally everyone is already aware of.

I believe the breast cancer week also raises money. Other at least points people towards a particular foundation they can donate to.

If it doesn't do that, then it's totally worthless too. Everyone knows breast cancer exists.
