An investigation is just gathering data.   That would be relevant information that is lacking.

And yes, if you don't want the facts of the case investigated, then one's best option may be to  keep it to yourself.   That is a choice one must make when bring charges against another.  If you don't want a fair and non-partisan investigation however; then I say we stop and move forward.
