Because of your culture you inevitably fall into the trap of unintentional prejudice and therefore base your idea of who god is supposed to be from ancient texts and traditional beliefs, but he is just one of many millions of gods claimed to be real by sincere and people.

Alexander the Great was a man who changed the world by conquering the Persian Empire and spreading Greek culture deep into Asia. He was also a god--at least that's what many people said at the time. You, MK, and most religious people today probably reject that he is a god and consider Alexander to have been nothing more than a human who was feared and revered in ancient times. Of course, Alexander was probably just a flesh-and-blood man, but how can we know for sure more than two thousand years after his reign? Maybe he was a god. Perhaps those who lived then know better than us. Muslims and Christians who want to push Alexander off his god pedestal have to consider how they feel when people do the same to Jesus and Allah for similar reasons.
Who are you to say otherwise? By what right do you correct their beliefs all these years later?
An atheist may not be convinced that Allah exists, for example, but she won't deny that Allah qualifies as a god in human culture. For many Christians, I'm sure it might seem absurd to think of King Tut, Julius Caesar, and David Koresh as gods, but on what grounds can they be dismissed? Just as no atheist has ever disproved the existence of the God of Abraham, no Christian has ever proved the nonexistence of the millions of gods various other religious people have believed in throughout history.

Of course, religions are based on the words of authority figures and not based on proof, good evidence, and scientifically verifiable claims. Divine revelations and "supernaturally inspired" writings cannot be verified to everyone’s satisfaction. This obviously leaves a lot of room for interpretation, debate, judgment, opinion, and disagreement. It’s like the Wild West of the human mind. Anything goes.

Through reasoning and honesty to oneself.
Yeah just like Hindus honestly see miracle of milk-drinking statues of the god Ganesha as proof that gods of Christian and Muslim are fake. Attempting to prove one god is real over all the others by citing miracles works well if one is tucked safely inside the bubble of his own religion and is unaware that believers belonging to contradictory religions have been doing the same for thousands of years. The gods may change, but the game remains the same.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
