I would never excuse anyone for being complicit in atrocity because of their race. I excuse Barack Obama of being complicit in these atrocities because a lot of them happened before he was on the world stage. The Taliban were blowing up and bulldozing World Heritage sites before they'd ever heard of Barack Obama.
