Sadly.
Perhaps new evidence might emerge someday, unlikely. There is nothing to go on. The parents refused to do a reenactment in situ of what happened that day with investigators. They were in the right of doing so with a lawyer by their status of arguidos(if they had no money the state would provide one).
This does not validate any accusations on the parents. The evidence is greater for the parents to explain. The cadaver odour, the blood on the apartment (not enough sample to do a reliable DNA test), does pin some questions on parents, to wich they never replied the authorities, as they flown to the UK the day they were about to be pronounced Arguidos.
It is still not enough. In the end, parents are urged to avoid leaving children unnatended. For 2 years now, I can't barely blink when my daughter is awake and even get up at night sometimes to check on her sleep. Me and my wife if in need of getting out for party and ballslapping sex, usually my mom or my sisters or a babysitter can help.
Dr Who had the weeping angels. I have my daughter. don't blink.
