Rob, you're way too confident in your theory. Would've been better for you if you just stuck to discussing this with us and encouraging us to do some research with you to see if there was anything you might've said that was based on some false premise(s) and/or not exactly the most parsimonious explanation for what happened. The way you're going about this, you don't appear to be open to correction and it looks to me like you've already made up your mind that you can't be wrong no matter what. From my perspective, it feels like you've fallen into the trap of confirmation bias and thereby behaving exactly like how a typical conspiracy theorist would behave, and having fact-checked a couple of claims you've argued for in this thread, I haven't been swayed from this perspective yet.
Maybe this is a way to escape from the harshness of reality and letting your anxiety do the speaking for you. FWIW, I think you're normally a very good critical thinker, and even the best critical thinkers can falter in their thinking from time to time. So there's no disappointment on my part, because I understand the frailty of human nature all too well. No one, including me and anyone else in this thread, is immune to cognitive biases and poor thinking.
