Well, I used to be a Flat-Earther... because I was bombarded by the conspiracy theorists with contraversial statements I didn't know how to evaluate. I thought that, if I understand their arguments and I can't prove them wrong, then the most honest thing I could do is to believe they are right. That was, of course, a wrong thing to do.
But, from my perspective, believing the mainstream history is no different. It also bombards me with controversial statements I don't know how to evaluate. How do I evaluate the claim that Slobodan Milosevic existed? How do I evaluate the claim that there were so many Serbs hating Croats? And so on...
The science should be testable and repeatable. Mainstream history doesn't appear to be. It appears to be mostly using the unknown to explain the unknown.
