More like it's daddy dearest that's interested in the sexual behaviour of christian teenage girls, when it comes to purity balls...huh?  

Atheists, for our part...are commonly perplexed at the weird and creepy shit that christers get up to.

This. Why does dad get to become the one who decides his daughter's sexual life? That's just weird and gross.

And why don't boys have to go through the same thing?

Why are women objectified and are "valued" based on their "purity?"

And like I said before, is this REALLY her choice? Would her relationship with her family not be in jeopardy if she decided not to do this? What about her relationship with her peers?

Indoctrination and shaming are powerful tools.

Because, per the bible, women are things to be owned and controlled and not people with independent minds and an ability to make choices.
