My first TV was A 9" B&W set that I saved up $50 for. That was back when you had the console TVs that were more like a piece of furniture with a wood frame. Those were the days. Now people are fighting over the best 4K, and even 8K TV. People never cared until they started showing up in store rooms. Now it's about getting the latest and greatest until the next better model comes out.
I had to get a convertor for my VHS tapes. Normally I wouldn't care but there were times when I was in the Army that we had film crews that would take footage of us during training and you could buy the compilation of the various events. Of course the tapes deteriorate, so I had to save them. That way every fives years, I can relive getting gassed and hacking spit all over.
