Those are the things that close a discussion down tho'... you losing your rag. If you made a good point, and let it rest on the reasoning... then you'd win. Adding ad homs[and variant either side of that] adds fallacy and your good point might be lost.

Some of Lucent's points had some small merit ... most did not. He touts his opinion as evidence and then refuses to accept your answers. Eventually, I have nothing to offer because he has nothing for me to respond to.

I thought Lucent chased you about your faith too much, but maybe he genuinely really didn't get what you were saying was all of it. You went over it one more time than was required for me too in that thread. You did lose your rag about that, maybe understandably. Hopefully you two can ressurect something. *hands out shovels*

I don't pretend to be in the top debater class on these forums. Guys like DP, VOID and Min are clearly better than I am, but I can certainly hang with someone who's core points are mostly bullshit arguments and baseless whining.

Personally I think Lucent is pretty good at backing up what he says rationally and calmly. I don't agree with him 100%, but I can at least respect him for those qualities.
I think you're an honest and open person Cinjin. There's no better qualification than that for debate.
