Well, if you want to call me that, it's your call, but on what basis do you actually declare it to be normal, may I ask?

It isn't disrespectful to call someone what they really are. I respect only those who have earned it. I will not respect someone because of the risk of upsetting others.
I caused a bit of an uproar at a bus stop last week when I told an old man off for a racist comment after an Asian gentleman had passed, he then told me to mind my own business and respect my elders... I won't respect someone due to their age, that is absurd. Respect is earned by actions.
It's really no reason.
My grandfather hates a lot of people. Not just our ethnic minorities, but most of our neighbors aswell.
And he was also a very harsh military man like his father, and his grandfather, but he was very kind on us.
That man was quite right. Here too, it's very important to respect your elders. And well, being old, they can sometimes act very eccentric. Is this a reason for you to disrespect them? I can't even remember how many times my grandfather hit me with his walking stick for not taking my shoes off before I entered his house.
