You are right, people die every day.  Or as my grandmother used to say- There’s people dying who have never died before.

I hope we're not related, but that sounds like the cousins.  

She was saying it tongue-in-cheek.  Grandma could read...that sounds as if that's unlikely with what you say about your cousins.

And, good god, no, we aren't related.
