Moderates, or as I like to call them "Frauderates" see conservatives as more willing to negotiate. That's because this is how they see negotiation:
Side 1: "We want to kill all Hispanic people."
Side 2: "We don't want to kill any Hispanic people."
Compromise: Kill HALF the Hispanic people
SIde 1: "We're okay with that!
Side 2: "We're not!"
Frauderates: "SIDE 2 IS SO UNWILLING TO COMPROMISE!"
There's a super double standard going on.
When the left compromises, they're called out as not standing up for their beliefs.
When the right compromises, they're lauded for compromising (often on their AWFUL beliefs)
When the left doesn't compromise, they're called out as being unwilling to compromise and are part of the problem.
When the right doesn't compromise, it's ignored.
Like when President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. Republicans REFUSED to give him a hearing. It's not that they would vote against him--they outright refused to hold a vote.
When Donald nominated Brettt Kavanaugh, accused of sexual assault, to the Supreme Court Republicans REFUSED to withdraw the nomination, and REFUSED to have an in depth investigation into the allegations, and made up their mind on him before hand.
When Democrats wanted single payer healthcare, they compromised, and we ended up with the Affordable Care Act.
When Republicans got in office, they made it their top goal to repeal the affordable care act. They just barely failed to overturn it.
Democrats offered Donald money for his stupid shrine to racism and bigotry in exchange for protection for DACA.
Donald refused the deal, figuring he had the power.
Despite that, he never made any steps toward getting funding for his Bigotry Memorial until Democrats were in power.
Now, Democrats are the ones saying no.
Some would have you think that Democrats need to 'compromise here' -- and they HAVE. They've offered money toward OTHER border protection, but not the wall. This is the very definition of compromise.
On Gun Control, Democrats have scaled back asking for a full out ban, looking to expand background checks. Republicans have always said no. No ban on bump stocks after the Vegas Shooting. No action at all after the murder of Kindergarteners in Sandy Hook. Apparently, the murder of Kindergartners does not weigh on the conscience of Republicans or their voters.
Conservatives get credit for 'compromising' without ever really compromising. Mostly because I don't think a lot of people understand what compromise really is. Meanwhile Democrats are called out for not compromising, despite compromising all the time.
It's outrageous.

The whole tone of Church teaching in regard to woman is, to the last degree, contemptuous and degrading. - Elizabeth Cady Stanton
