Sports is competition. THAT is my point.
I see no difference between a close race/game/match and a blowout. Even with a wide gap, the leader and the one whom knows they are going to lose IN ANY SPORT, all play till the clock runs out.
If one wants to bring up safety issues, I get that. But again, I don't care if you are car 32 in last place, or if you are losing to the Patriots in the Super Bowl 5 billion to 3. Any pit crew is going to be like any coach, and tell you to do the best you can till it is over.
