FB and phishing
#2
RE: FB and phishing
Phishing is about getting you to give up your information voluntarily - usually by impersonating a trustworthy source. For example, you might get an email from someone pretending to be AtheistForum administrators, asking you to confirm your username and password. They are "phishing" for you to willingly give up your information so they can access your account. Phishing doesn't involve any hacking or backdoors or system exploits.

Hacking involves using tools and exploits to get access to information that you normally would not be able to access, like system code or databases. You intentionally break into secure servers or data portals.

So phishing is about people willingly giving up their info, hacking is breaking into a system to access or steal info. Phishing is like tricking someone into giving you their house key, hacking is like breaking their window to get in.
