I simply relayed what I've been told by multiple friends of mine and in no way implied that I knew where she lived or what type of neighborhood she's from. You're the one being presumptuous here, not me.
If she's that concerned, don't go outside with your cane. Figure out an alternative. Problem solved. I'm sure it's tough enough living as a disabled person, let alone having to worry about the police thinking you have a weapon. But at the end of the day if the thought scares you THAT MUCH, do something about it.
