The estimate for how long it takes for full effects anthropogenic global warming to Peter out and global temperature to revert to base line trend seems to range from several thousand years to several hundred thousand years, a huge range that regrettably does not include “several”, presumably single digit, generations.
The problem with “green new deal” is it presupposes it has an constituency large enough so that it can large ignore or pay only the most unconvincing lip service to the short term interests of all other constituencies. It preaches to the chore and probably sound particularly thrilling to the chore because the chore probably feels to them the other side has been doing this successfully to them all along. But keep in mind the reality is the inroad the other side has made can only be made with very skillful and very opportunistic and cynical recruitment effort that took 60 years.
