My point is exactly what I said it was earlier.
These days, it appears that if you no longer approve of a person, then you have no duty to be kind or empathetic to that person.
Hitchens thought Falwell was bad, so he showed no empathy or kindness to Falwell, his relatives or friends. I'd be interested to hear if anyone here thought Hitchens was wrong to write those unkind things.
Where we draw the line is maybe the point. When is it OK to stop showing empathy and kindness?
I think some people are very quick to draw that line, and very quick to decide that other people deserve to be treated badly. And I think that if the target of the nastiness is unpopular, we can spend a lot of time and effort being nasty to that person and still be called kind by our friends.
Still waiting for your evidence while you squirm around trying to justify yourself.

Let this one go, man. Please, please, please. Let it go.
Limit your accusations to people who are alive and can defend themselves.
I'm sorry that you get personally insulted here. If you think I can help you out in a given situation, feel free to PM me or mention me in thread. Also, feel free to point out if I dispense personal insults to anyone. Not when I'm being fun and sporting though; I like a rowdy debate on occasion. But if you feel like I'm bullying someone, please, call me out on it. If I agree with your assessment, I'll own up to it and/or rectify the situation if it is wise/feasible to do so.
The insults against me are of no concern. Thank you for your offer of help, though.
The people who are upset here will get over it. They'll have to chill. If they suddenly think posts on this forum must show concerns for the feelings of others they're just being hypocritical.
But I've made a true point with true facts, and that's enough. I'll stop.
No, please don't stop until you provide the evidence for your "True Facts®".
