The positive electricity is in the sky above and you can't reach it(unless your flying) even from the tallest mountain. The positive atmospheric electricity increases with altitude to say, 400 meters = 140 volts(?).
This actually explains a lot to me. It explains how a bee in beeline flight doesn't smack into a building. It's just bouncing off the negative blanket up and over.
That's my 2 cents worth.
You information is antiquated. Current theory holds that the atmosphere is made of particles called 'atmospheritrons', which are about the size and shape of a small pea. Electricity is generated by the wave front produced by the cloaking devices used by atmospheritrons (this is why we can't see them).
Bees are equipped with GPS devices and follow them literally; if it says, 'Turn right now' you can bet your left nut that's what the bee is going to do. Since bees have six legs, they are ambidextrous. When told by the GPS to turn right, half of the bee attempts to do so, while the other half tries to go to the left. This, coupled with the effects of the minute amounts of upsidaisium in the bee's DNA is what causes the bee to go up and over the building.
Tuppenny ha'penny worth.
