As someone with several (mental) disorders, I'm not offended in the least by the term. I can't say that I can necessarily understand Sae's position as my issues have nothing to do with gender identity - I can only try (and I would probably fall short).
I personally do not find the term offensive, but I do understand that some do. Like Sae, my condition(s) have a significant degree of social stigma and misunderstanding attached to them.
"Disorder" to me (and as I understand how it is used in the medical community) simply implies that the condition is a functional disturbance - which in my case is quite true.
