Declawing Cats

Long ago, when I worked at a mom and pop radio station in Central Va, my station manager asked me to feed her cat while she was on vacation. Her cat was an outdoor cat. So we go over there after she had left and put him inside. We pulled him out of a closet shelf, and his leg was swollen. He had his claws, and he was an outdoor cat. But we didn't wait to ask her to take it to the vet. We did so, and we paid for the bill. That cat's claws did not prevent it from getting an infection from a fight with another animal, which is why I keep mine indoors.
