the one i owned/wrote and sold it inside a year. (according to my face book page I do have the number but let me see if will try and dig out the patent office letter) what I owned it was a small part of a bigger system. the power management side was the second patented idea i had. Your first problem is you care too much about what these people think of you. This thread is evidence of that. There's a whole list of other problems you have here on this board, but that'd the first.

Keep in mind, this board is not a valid representation of the real world. As a lifelong progressive liberal I can tell you that this board is a far-left echo chamber for a group of individuals who seem to be highly disconnected from reality. That being said, there are also some very intelligent people on here. I'm not one of them (just an average joe), but I enjoy seeing their posts. There are also some people on here who have convinced themselves that they know more than everyone else who talks to them and will go on arguing for 50+ pages in a single thread, refusing to back down on a single point or see the fault in their own logic.

Their egos outweigh their intellect.

That being said, pick and choose your battles here. No matter what you say on here, there will be at least one person who disagrees with you because there are so many different personalities that, even though there's a sort of political status quo on here, there are bound to be variances in all sorts of different opinions.

People on here also use dirty debate tactics. They'll gang up on you, use ad hominems (avoid your point and attack you personally), they'll focus on one minute detail of your argument and beat that to death while ignoring the rest.

Or they'll focus on what you didn't say and beat that to death. Or they'll have a problem with how you worded it. Whatever it is it's always something.

Or, when you do make a good point, they'll just ignore your post because you're not part of the in-crowd. It's childish and silly. And I've talked to several people here on the board in PMs who feel exactly the same way I do. But I suppose you'll have to take my word on that. I don't really care.

This is a place where a lot of people like to come and argue. Maybe they're getting their frustrations out. Who knows?

The people who dislike me on here will read this post and write me off as bitter or angry or they'll make some snide comment or sarcastic remark. Or they'll say that I'm somehow giving you a pass or agreeing with you, when that's not at all what I'm doing. But I expect that type of shit at this point. That's fine. They are predictable as the sun coming up tomorrow is.

Long story short. Stop caring so much. If you make friends here, cool. If you don't, cool. Maybe that's not what your here for. But figure out why you are here and figure out which fights to fight and which ones to walk away from, because no matter what your opinion is, someone will always disagree with you. You can't win em all, nor should you want to.

Besides, you're a Christian on a board full of atheists. You already drew the short stick. And when you're arguing for the existence of a fictional deity, you're on more slippery ground than what I can help you with. The most I can ask is that you remain skeptical, even of your own views at times, which we all should, in a way. It's a good thing to question what you believe every once in a while and see how it matches up with what you used to think.  If winning brownie points with people here really is your concern, learn how to think critically of religion. I think you'll find that an atheist has much more respect, in general, for someone who ADMITS that they don't that god is real, but still believes they are.

At least I do, and I think I can speak for most atheists on here that they probably feel the same.

you are right in that i do care far too much about how i am seen simply as a matter of trying to maintain a balance of integrity and the freedom to push back. often times I'm told I push back too hard ,and don't give these guys a fair chance. before my first thread it had been over a month since the last topic.. just wanted to see if there was anything i could do to spark a real conversation again.

Despite you trying to make this about me being "butthurt," which is as transparent as it is inaccurate, I was explaining to Drich why he/she shouldn't put too much stock in caring about what the people of this forum think about him. Everything I said to Drich was related to his/her situation, especially considering I've seen people on here treat him this same way.

This wasn't about me complaining; it's simply me saying that that's how things are here so don't get bent out of shape.
