It seems as if I might not have to worry about paying outrageous prices for Eliquis after all. My new PCP reviewed my medical files and said that Eliquis is for preventing blood clots. It has nothing to do with regulating my heartbeat. He has referred me to a cardiologist and told me that, since I'm already taking two blood thinner drugs, I should discontinue the use of Eliquis for now. I'll receive more instructions on the appropriate medication(s) during my next appointment.
