Russia has been instrumental in breaking up the western alliance, which had hitherto been the dominant geopolitical influence and reality in the world. Russia also played critical role in the ascension of both Trump and Johnson, and of the rise of the right wing eurosceptics. Russia had set her goal to break up the western alliance and succeeding in it and thus affected more profound change to every major country’s geopolitical outlook over the last 10 years than any other country.
Russia played what appear to be a weak hand to achieve almost total victory. America continue to revel like morons in what we conceive to be an unbeatably strong hand even while we all our chips have made their way to the other side of the table.
They managed to buy themselves a president, but I don't think that was really that expensive. Trump is nothing if not cheap.
It just shows how weak we really are if nominally the largest economy and strongest military can be so cheaply bought and made to serve the interests of a hostile, and by all appearances, 2nd tier power.
We continue to emphasize reinforcing the outward appearance of crude strength while ignoring how thoroughly rotten and corrupt at core we’ve become, to the degree that we hardly even function as a calculating world power that learns from experience.
