In my opinion, from the perspective of prop design, the enterprise from the motion picture remains by far the best in the history of the franchise.
It wasn't designed to have character or panache, nor was it meant to be slick or stylish. It was mean to be a warship. It's rather unfair to expect such a ship to have the same general mock up as a vessel intended for long distance exploration.
