What is that?
'Vul-nut' is a reannual grown on the Discworld. Just as annuals are planted this year to grow this year, and bi-annuals are planted this year to grow next year, vul-nuts are planted this year to grow last year.
Because of this, the nut is vaguely sentient enough to know when you're going to eat it. Thus, wine made from the nut makes you drunk before you drink it.
