Meditation, in small doses can it have large effect? your thoughts on this article

That's the second time someone on this thread has used the term "woo". I was just wondering if this is just an arbitrary word used to describe the proposed spiritualistic claims supposedly found in things like meditation, or if it's a shortened down version of a longer word denoting something similar? can anyone enlighten me?.. pardon the pun there lol

As in spooky / "spiritual" (tongue in cheek) or pseudo-scientific.

A derogatory term in atheistic circles and an immediate put down.

Woo-woo (or just plain woo) refers to ideas considered irrational or based on extremely flimsy evidence or that appeal to mysterious occult forces or powers.

Thanks for the info man, it's a cool term, definitely gonna be using it where I can from here on out. kind of embarrassed that I didn't already know it, but hey, you learn something new everyday I suppose
