Today, I learned that Queen Cleopatra would actually have most likely what we would call white, due to her Macedonian ancestry, and also this:
Yep, there wasn't any outside blood in her gene pool since Cleopatra I, princess of the Seleucid Empire (modern day Turkey to Pakistan). The Ptolemaic dynasty's family tree was basically a stump, not quite at the level of Charles II of Spain yet, but I suspect that any kids she had with her brothers Ptolemy XIII and XIV would have probably reached that point. As far as I can tell, she would probably have been the first member of her family to marry outside the family in well over a century.
Also, I just noticed that there's no Cleopatra VI on the tree, and apparently, it's because, to make everything even more confusing, Cleopatra VI may or may not be the same person as Cleopatra V. And just when you thought the Ptolemaic dynasty's family tree couldn't get more baffling.
