I swear the next time some bozo with an unleashed dog pulls the "my dog is friendly!11!" derpshit, I'm gonna tell them my dog is not friendly - hostile in fact - and then drop the leash (FWIW she is a cupcake).
I think a lot of people are ignorant and don't take into account that sometimes, ordinarily well behaved dogs aren't, and a dog on a leash is at a tremendous disadvantage to dog(s) who aren't, much less the person on the other end of the leash. As a result, I make sure my dog gets introduced to other dogs on a level field.
