I have no problem with this in theory. However this seems to impact those who actually need the program. Food stamps are indeed something that should be temporary only. I actually have a friend, who is on welfare. Yet he refuses to get a job. The irony is he is a Trump supporter and sits around all day blaming immigrants and women for the reason he can't get a job. But he doesn't bothering applying. lmfao
Food stamps are abused. That is a fact. However, that is a small amount of recipients who do this.
“This is an unacceptable escalation of the administration’s war on working families, and it comes during a time when too many are forced to stretch already-thin budgets to make ends meet,” said U.S. Representative Marcia Fudge, an Ohio Democrat.
It seems there should be some kind of stipulation that does not remove SNAP benefits from working families barely getting by. Now obviously those who refuse to work without a legitimate reason and use SNAP as their main source of income, those people really grind my gears. Get a damn job like the rest of us!
This will save the U.S. government $5.5 billion. And I think we all know where that $5 billion will be used for. Either golf or our bloated military budget.
