Hearing can be explained by pressure waves in the air (measured mathematicaly in terms of amplitude and frequency) also chemicaly and physicaly in terms of action potentials in the synapses of the nerves
Touch is similar but using nerve cells on the skin rather than the ear
Taste and smell are using cells which react to the shape of chemical molecules stimulating the nerves
