Reminds me of some ones writings on a forum, oh so long ago.
The celestial powers that be decide "Yup. Armaggedon time! Lets clean the clock back to lemures!" with gates of (From?) Hell opening up onto the modern day world.
(Well.... the 1990's anywho.)
To which, after a stunned humanity picks its collective jaws off the floor, had the modern industrial complex throwing everything plus refurbished and commisioned Iowa battle ship kitchen appliances right BACK at said spawns of nastyness.
Scenes of Abrams and T72 tanks blasting away merrily at demon spawn while A 10's deliver "BRRRRRT-Y" goodness of fire support abound.
Because, as Deesse23 and others have pointed out, humanity's moral compas/system is actually better than that posed by bronze age, stone throwing primitives.
So... in passjng to AtlasS33?
If there is such a realm as this 'Hell' you propose then the denizens have far more to worry about modern man's inclinations and technology than we have to worry about their pitch forks.
