Love's opposite is hate; it's the very well known -and official- antonym of the word.
It's not even the topic of discussion in this topic; i.e the OP is not discussing the "hypothetical parallel meanings of famous words". In other words: discuss the OP; it's better for the reader.
Only in the sense of 'love'meaning 'to like'.
Whilst hate might appear to be the opposite of love it isn't anywhere near as powerful an emotion and grief is quite literally the loss of love.
The greatest moments of your life will be those defined by love, the worst will be those defined by grief.
