While I do enjoy his 'gangster' films, some of Scorcese's best work (and the majority of his films) has nothing to do with organized crime: 'The Color of Money', 'Raging Bull', 'Taxi Driver' and so on.
In fact, Scorcese has directed in such a wide variety of genres, for anyone to say 'his films are shit' indicates either a generalized bias against Scorcese based on a few films, or an attempt to be 'edgy'.
