Was the star of Bethlehem a real astronomical event?
RE: Was the star of Bethlehem a real astronomical event?
Quote:Larson's 'star' certainly seems to fit all the distinguishing features as listed in Matthew. I'm waiting on Stimbo's findings.

You have two "inerrant" sources which give conflicting dates. Your introduction of a 3d date will do nothing to help them. WTF does it matter?

( Larson's "star" is, of course, a consequence of his own confirmation bias. He believes there is a star...which leads the magi right to jesus' house! and so he finds one which he can con himself does that.)

What is crystal clear is that whoever the hell wrote "Matthew" it was some primitive schmuck who thought that stars were "lights" in the sky that could "travel" along the earth and illuminate a specific spot.

Childish.
