It is an admiration of the diversity of their local wildlife.

Kookaburras, sound like screaming chimps to me. Australians consider the kookaburras as "laughing" not screaming. It sounds more like screaming to me. 

But it is also a nod to old Hollywood and the movie starring Clint Eastwood, "Any Which Way But Loose."

And you are right, I kick myself after the fact when I submit a misspelled word.

But with me, I find it more important to get the idea out even if imperfect. Unfortunately with most media, the ability to go back and correct something is time limited.

I think that overall you did a good job describing the scene.  The above stanza seems out of place, particularly the Smokey and the Bandit reference.  

Sometimes less is more.

In all seriousness, I do appreciate this. But the truth with all art is that you get what you get out of it or you don't get anything out of it.

I'll take it. 

My intent with that stanza was to appeal to a demographic that would be into that movie. You are talking to a man who took a redneck to a local 5 star sushi restaurant only to have him play drums with chopsticks on a soy sauce tray wearing a big black cowboy hat using his belt buckle as his ID.

It was just amazing to me, to sit in that back yard and watch the tide go in an out slowly. I was mesmerized by the diversity of life, the trees, the birds, the tide going in and out.

The mangrove roots looked like lightening strikes. The driftwood I described had a notch on the top of it that reminded me of a submarine top. It is amazing to me what you can observe and appreciate when you slow down, and skip the rat race.

I think you are a very smart person.

But do tell, how many people, regardless of class, understand what I mean by "Double slit" in this poem.

It could be argued that many theist understand that refers to the photon experiment in which scientist proved that a particle could act both like a particle and wave. 

You figured it out yes? But how many laypeople who treat Jerry Springer and Hannity accept the same science?

What am I supposed to write? "Hickory Dickory Dock? There was an old lady from Nantucket, I'm rubber, you're glue"?

You think people shouldn't know what the double slit experiment means?
