In a physical sense I agree. But what many would argue is that that socialization acts as a coping mechanism. Humans are social animals and that is hard wired into our evolution. Some people socialize by going to holy places, I socialize by going to sports bars during NFL season. But if this pandemic doesn't clear up by September, and it is far more likely it wont, because solving these things takes time, I damned sure am going to stay at home.
I think the better argument so theists don't feel they are being singled out is to say, "They olympics were delayed, sports events have been delayed, concerts have been delayed. Nobody is singling you out based on religion." Mass gatherings regardless of content, are a bad idea right now. If they truly understand and care about others they will understand this.
