To be fair, Brian DID apologize. I’m just not ready to accept it.

When you say you are sorry and then follow it up with your excuse you negate the apology IMHO.  YMMV

You might not be ready to accept it.  I find it unacceptable to say he's stressed over world events of late and therefore made a threat.
