More farms actually don't require more water, and more farms aren't needed to feed more people. We're just incredibly wasteful and inefficient in areas that we can get away with. I agree that somebody will have to pay the piper unless we do something about it. A warming planet opens vast tracts of land to agriculture btw. Plants do very well when this rock gets hot.
