That being a Christian is not a choice? Yes, I'd imagine they do - and they'd doubtless be right, at least regarding the "belief" (orthodoxy) component - as for what they say and do (orthopraxy) I'd say they have a choice about that. Hypothetically I guess, Xtian Y could, for example, firmly believe in JC and God and heaven etc, but might decide such beliefs are counterproductive for mankind, that God doesn't WANT people to believe in him these days and that the world would be better off if religion died so that mankind could takes responsibility for things PROPERLY, and so they'd profess to be an atheist and never step foot inside a church and campaign for secularism etc.
