You know, I think that if Bef's story is true and that Adrian told him to voice his opinion like this then they both should have shown more tact. This is not the way to go about voicing complaints and it does reflect negatively back on Bef. But it's out the open and I feel like Bef has just been ridiculed instead of addressed, so here I go.
I disagree with Bef, EvF is not a moron and like all of us does have his opinion to share and things to learn. However, while I don't think EvF is a moron I will agree with Bef on one point. I absolutely hate fluff posting, and the fact that you have high post counts doesn't reflect highly on your quality of posts. I only try to post something when I actually have something to say and very very rarely might I post a fluff. I'm an exec for AB and an admin on the forums. I am constantly answering registration questions and having in depth conversations with staffers and yet my post count is nowhere near the post counts of those who fluff post, and I've been there since the forum was created. In fact if you get your post count to a certain level your status changes for one post count to "Likes to post randomly to raise post count" or something like that as a joke.
In my opinion, EvF, you do have a lot of "Lol" posts and to me that doesn't contribute positively in the forums and can detract from the conversation.
I've dealt with fluff posting every time I get involved on a forum. It always annoys me when people reply with nothing that contributes to a conversation. Especially if two people derail a thread topic with a personal conversation. Usually I can tell who the fluff posters are, their high post count is usually a strong indicator and they usually wear it like a badge as if it means something. I don't care how many posts people have as long as they are quality posts, and in my experience on many different forums the people with the most thoughtful posts tend to have lower post counts. I tend to ignore the people who fluff. I'll be honest, EvF, I have you pegged as a fluff poster and I don't often read your posts when I find the time to read and respond to these forums. That's not to say that none of your posts are thought out and that you don't contribute to conversations at all, but it's diminished by your fluffing.
Whether you deserve to be a moderator or not is the decision of the Admin's, so I would be very interested to hear what Adrian thinks of this. But if it was my decision, I wouldn't give someone I considered a fluff poster moderator status.
