Science has consistently and repeatedly busted the idea that humans have a set cure.
People use philosophy to create ideology, which seems to work when nursed through a carefully worded hypothetical, but is a mix of success and failure in the real world. There, the problem isn't the ideology but people who cling to one ideology over others and can't see them as tools fit for different circumstances. In that sense, I agree with you. It's like religion.
After two semesters of symbolic logic, I found computer programming languages very easy. Other philosophy classes taught me how to think more critically and analytically, which advanced my ability to solve technical problems. I'm a better electronics engineer and researcher because of philosophy. It may not lead to many answers, but it's great for figuring out critical questions. That's where science comes in.
